(NEW YORK, August 12, 2009)— Schoeman, Updike & Kaufman, LLP is pleased to announce that Elaine M. Taussig has joined the Firm as counsel in its Chicago office.
Elaine M. Taussig joins the Firm's Corporate & Securities practice. Ms. Taussig counsels clients on a broad range of corporate, securities and transactional matters. She has extensive experience advising officers, directors and companies regarding a variety of general corporate, contractual and business law issues. She also counsels clients regarding compliance with federal securities laws and disclosure matters, exchange requirements, director independence and corporate governance matters.
Ms. Taussig has represented clients in connection with public and private equity and debt offerings as well as private equity and venture capital transactions. She has represented clients in a wide range of transactions, including stock and asset purchase and sale transactions, mergers as well as in connection with tender offers and rights offerings. Ms. Taussig has extensive experience in a variety of industries, including energy, software, manufacturing, financial services and retail.
Ms. Taussig received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from Barnard College of Columbia University.
