Schoeman, Updike & Kaufman, LLP Welcomes New Attorney in Chicago

Schoeman, Updike & Kaufman, LLP is pleased to announce that Theodore L. Banks has joined the firm as counsel in its Chicago office.
After successfully managing business and legal challenges in the food industry over the course of a 30-year career at Kraft Foods, Ted joins the Firm as Counsel in the Food Practice area. He has extensive experience with a variety of corporate matters, including antitrust, corporate transactions, management of complex litigation, environmental law, employment matters, and corporate compliance programs. Ted has in-depth familiarity with all of the legal issues that confront companies in the food business -- including food manufacturing, distribution, sales, and product safety.
Prior to joining Schoeman, Updike & Kaufman, LLP, Ted served as Chief Counsel - Global Compliance at Kraft Foods, Inc. During his career at Kraft, Ted was responsible for antitrust, general litigation, corporate transactions, sales, legal computer applications, records management, and public policy coordination. Ted has pushed numerous articles in the legal publications, and is the author of treatises on distribution law and corporate compliance programs. He has been recognized as a "Star of the In-House Competition Bar" and is a frequent speaker at continuing education programs for attorneys and compliance professionals.
Mr. Banks received his J.D. from the University of Denver and his B.A. from Beloit College.
