Babette L. Donadio
Ms. Donadio concentrates her legal practice on litigation defense and strategic planning and counseling in the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech industries. Ms. Donadio has extensively counseled clients regarding the convergence of commercial, regulatory, scientific, and public policy issues including, advertising and labeling review, legislative analysis, corporate communications, financial disclosures, and new product acquisitions. She has participated on high level litigation strategy teams for mass-tort defense, consumer fraud/product liability class action defense, mediation, risk management counseling, electronic discovery, settlement negotiations, and product labeling.
From 1987 to 2007, Ms. Donadio had extensive and diverse in-house legal experience as a senior attorney in the general counsel’s office of a major global health care company. She has directed the defense of product liability litigation for prescription pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and animal health product lines. Among her many matters, she was in-house lead counsel for the defense of litigation against a statin and the world’s largest selling pharmaceutical product; for litigation involving the first prescription product for treating erectile dysfunction; and for defending a first in-class treatment for diabetes, which became the subject of mass tort litigation involving over 35,000 filed claims and law suits.
Ms. Donadio’s experiences also included transactional work consisting primarily of contract review, analysis, and negotiation, tort reform analysis, and product labeling committee participation. Her early experiences include practicing in a New York litigation boutique and in a major Wall Street law firm in the area of litigation.
