Linda Newman's practice is the representation of high net worth individuals, assisting them in estate planning to achieve a tax-efficient transfer of assets. Estate planning includes not only the drafting of Wills, but also includes the creation of trusts (i.e. living trusts, life insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, and charitable remainder trusts), as well as the establishment of business entities such as the family limited partnership.

Ms. Newman's practice also includes the administration of estates from probate through distribution, including the filing of Federal and State estate tax returns and representation of the Estate in the estate tax proceedings through the audit level. Her practice also includes the representation of fiduciaries, beneficiaries and objectants in contested probate and accounting proceedings.

Recent representative engagements include:

Estate planning for the family of a high net worth individual; will drafting; establishing charitable remainder trust, generation-skipping transfer tax trust, and S Corporation trusts to enable this client to use lifetime transfers to reduce her taxable estate.

Estate planning for a CEO; will drafting, insurance trust to remove the proceeds of insurance receivable at death from his taxable estate.

Estate administration for an author; supervised the administration of estate and prepared an estate tax return, accepted by the IRS, which included the valuation of literary rights at date of death.

Estate administration for the estate of a former corporate executive; administered the estate including the filing of an estate tax return, accepted by the IRS, which incorporated estate planning established during the decedent's life, such as a charitable trust, a family limited partnership, and an insurance trust.
