Stephanie A. Scharf Presents NAWL Survey to ABA Commission on Women in the Profession

Stephanie A. Scharf spoke to the annual meeting of the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, in Chicago on July 31, 2009, about the 2009 National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) Survey on the Retention and Promotion of Women in Law Firms.

The NAWL Survey annually measures the status of women in private practice in order to benchmark progress and study the factors that enhance or impede the advancement of women into the highest levels of partnership and leadership positions. Among the topics of special interest this year were the impact on women’s progress of law firm layoffs, firm governance and rainmaking. Ms. Scharf is the President of the NAWL Foundation and a former President of NAWL.
