Beth Kaufman Wins Appeals in Second Circuit Court of Appeals/Chairs Bar Committees

Beth Kaufman prevailed in two arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in the Fall of 2005, resulting in the affirmance of dismissals of two actions (one an employment discrimination action and the other a products liability action) brought against our clients. Ms. Kaufman currently chairs the The Association of the Bar of the City of New York’s Committee on the Judiciary. The Committee recently completed its pre-election evaluations of prospective state court judges and its pre-appointment review of two federal district judges, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District and appointed state court judges. Ms. Kaufman also chairs the Procedures Subcommitee of the Committee to Review U.S. Supreme Court Nominees of the National Association of Women Lawyers, where she completed the reviews of the nominations of Justice Roberts and Justice Alito. Ms. Kaufman also is a Division Director overseeing CLE programs for the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2006, Ms. Kaufman was installed as a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) at a luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria.
