Firm Obtains Dismissal with Prejudice of Product Liability Action Against AstraZeneca LLP

Partner Stephanie Scharf obtained a pre-trial dismissal with prejudice of all claims against client AstraZeneca LLP, in a third party product liability action filed by certain hospital and nursing defendants in an Illinois state court. The case involved failure-to-warn allegations against Streptase, a medication previously marketed by the company, which had been prescribed for an off-label use. The favorable result was obtained after completion of depositions of the medical defendants and certain medical experts. March 2007.
